GONZALES — Arm wrestling enthusiasts are invited to Gonzales for a pair of arm wrestling contests that will take place in April and May.
The first competition is set for this Saturday, April 26, at 5 p.m. at Carnitas Trejo on Third Street. On Saturday, May 31, another arm wrestling contest will be held at Tacos El Siete on Fourth Street at 7 p.m.
Talent shows will also take place on the nights of the arm wrestling at both venues.
Fabian Lopez, organizer of the events, is excited about bringing the arm wrestling and talent shows to the area.
“The arm wrestling contests are for men and women in large and XL categories,” Lopez said. “We will also have kids categories, and trophies will be given out to the winners and they will say ‘Gonzales Champion’ with two arm wrestling figures on top of the trophies.”
There is no charge to enter the contests.
“I’ve always been a dreamer, and for a while I thought I was done, but after beating colon cancer in 2017… God gave me new hope to be audacious and resilient,” Lopez added.
