MONTEREY COUNTY — With the Nov. 3 general election approaching, Monterey County Elections is reminding voters of key dates and voting options.
Local and state voter information guides are being mailed to voters. Ballots began mailing Oct. 1, and all active registered voters will receive a ballot by mail. In-person voting is also available.
The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 19. Same-day voter registration begins Oct. 20 for eligible residents who miss the deadline.
In-person voting is available at the Monterey County Elections Office, 1441 Schilling Place in Salinas, beginning Oct. 5. Saturday voting will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 24. The Elections Office will mail ballots through Oct. 27, which is also the last recommended day to return a ballot through the U.S. Postal Service.
Beginning Oct. 29, voters can request a manual postmark for mailed ballots. An Elections satellite office at Embassy Suites, 1441 Canyon Del Rey Blvd. in Seaside, opens Oct. 30 for early in-person voting. Weekend voting will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at the Elections Office and the Seaside satellite location.
Election Day is Nov. 3. Voters may vote in person or return their ballots until 8 p.m.
Additional early voting locations, including Books and Ballots locations, are available through the Monterey County Elections website. Voters also can access local and state voter information guides, track their ballots and check voter registration status online.
