SOLEDAD — A 24-year-old Soledad man has been arrested following an investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material, according to the Soledad Police Department.

At about 5:33 a.m. on June 3, detectives, assisted by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Crisis Response Team from the Correctional Training Facility and Salinas Valley State Prison, served a residential search warrant in the 100 block of Encinal Street.

Police said the warrant stemmed from an investigation involving a Soledad resident suspected of possessing child sexual abuse material. An arrest warrant had been issued, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident at his home.

During the search, investigators located and seized additional evidence, police said.

The suspect, identified as Julio Romero Flores, was booked into Monterey County Jail on multiple charges, including possession of obscene matter depicting a minor, distribution of obscene matter depicting a minor, committing a felony while released on bail, violation of probation and possession of a controlled substance.
