Mobile spay, neuter clinic coming to King City
KING CITY — Limited appointments remain for upcoming mobile spay and neuter clinics hosted by SPCA Monterey County at the King City Recreation Center.
The donor-supported clinics are scheduled for April 22 and 30 at the King City Recreation Center, 401 Division St., and aim to provide affordable surgical services to help address pet overpopulation in South Monterey County. Appointments require a deposit and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fees include surgery and a rabies vaccination, with costs set at $95 for dogs and puppies and $55 for cats and kittens. The clinics are open to all Monterey County residents. Eligible pets must be between 2 months and 6 years old and weigh between 2 and 30 pounds.
“Since 1976, our clinic has prevented hundreds of thousands of unwanted births in our community,” said Beth Brookhouser, vice president of marketing and communications. “By bringing these services directly to King City, we’re removing barriers to care and helping local families keep their pets healthy and happy.”
Appointments can be scheduled online at spcamc.org/mobile.

Presenters Alex Mares and Michelle Wouden of the Public Defender’s Office will provide updates on immigration law and information on how criminal cases — past or present — may affect a person’s ability to remain in the United States.
Officials will also discuss the Clean Slate Program, which helps eligible individuals clear past convictions, improving access to jobs, housing, education and public benefits.
