Monterey County Works plans job fairs, recruitments
SALINAS — Monterey County Works is inviting jobseekers to attend a series of March job fairs and recruitment events at its Salinas Career Center, 344 Salinas St.
The events, all on Wednesdays, are free and open to the public. March events include a Multiple Employer Job Fair on March 4, an Industry Spotlight Recruitment for Hospitality on March 11, a second Multiple Employer Job Fair on March 18 and an Industry Spotlight Recruitment for Finance, Insurance and Real Estate on March 25. All events run in the afternoon, from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Lopez hosts community listening session in San Ardo
SAN ARDO — Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez and his District 3 office will be hosting a community listening session on Thursday, March 5, in San Ardo.
The session will take place at 6 p.m. at the San Ardo Elementary School, 62428 Center St. Residents are invited to share their thoughts and ideas about the community and county government.

Official candidate filing period closes Friday
MONTEREY COUNTY — The candidate filing period for elective offices in the June 2, 2026, Statewide Direct Primary Election closes Friday, March 6, with candidate forms completed and submitted by the 5 p.m. deadline.
Official nomination documents are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the filing period at the Monterey County Elections Department, 1441 Schilling Place – North Building, in Salinas. King City community blood drive set for March 10
KING CITY — Vitalant is hosting a community blood drive on Tuesday, March 10, from 1 to 5 p.m., in the bloodmobile at the King City Recreation Center, 401 Division St., in King City.
