SOLEDAD — Soledad Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with AT&T and Human I-T, has announced a laptop giveaway for Soledad residents.
This initiative aims to provide free refurbished laptops to individuals in need, helping bridge the digital divide and support community members who lack access to essential technology.
“The Soledad Chamber notes that the digital divide significantly impacts economic growth and businesses, creating disparities in opportunities and hindering overall growth,” said Maria Corralejo, executive director of Soledad Chamber. “It limits access to education, professional and entrepreneurial opportunities and essential services, particularly impacting lower-income households, small businesses and rural communities. The Soledad Chamber is grateful for the opportunity to partner with AT&T and Human I-T and be a part of the solution in bridging the digital divide in Soledad.”
Registration is required to receive a laptop. For information on obtaining a laptop, individuals should visit the Soledad Chamber booth at the Soledad Night Market on Friday, July 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Soledad Grocery Outlet parking lot.
Supplies are limited, and early registration is strongly encouraged.
Laptops will be distributed in August following a ceremony that will include Soledad Chamber board members, AT&T representatives, regional and local leaders and dignitaries. The event will provide the chance for attendees to engage with organizations committed to digital inclusion and community empowerment.
