MUSEUM CELEBRATION

KING CITY — Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum (MCARLM), in partnership with the King City Young Farmers, will host a family-friendly Independence Day celebration at San Lorenzo Park, 1160 Broadway St., in King City on Friday, July 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature a car show with low riders, hot rods and muscle cars, along with a cornhole tournament, face painting, sack races, watermelon and hot dog eating contests and other summer activities in the Kid Zone. Food vendors, including the King City Young Farmers’ ribs BBQ, will be offering treats, and local nonprofits and artisans will have booths showcasing their crafts. A beer garden will also be available. Admission is free. The event is a great opportunity to enjoy community, explore local history and celebrate Independence Day with fun for all ages. FOURTH FUN

SALINAS VALLEY — Soledad’s annual Fourth of July celebration will feature a free fireworks display at dusk on Friday, July 4. A professional pyrotechnician will be coordinating the aerial fireworks display this year. In addition, from 12 to 8:30 p.m., there will be live music, food booths, games and prizes for all ages — taking place at Soledad Little League Park, corner of Andalucia Drive and North Street. In Gonzales, the local Rotary Club will host its July 4 celebration from 12 to 6 p.m. at Central Park, featuring a parade, youth games, food booths and live music.


HONORING VETERANS

GREENFIELD — Veterans in the community are encouraged to join the City of Greenfield’s Fourth of July celebration, during which a special ceremony will be held to honor their service. The ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. at Patriot Park, 1351 Oak Ave., and attending veterans will receive a complimentary food voucher. For more information or to RSVP, interested individuals can contact the organizers at 831-236-1230. Greenfield’s July 4 celebration takes place at the park from 3 to 10 p.m., with food vendors, live music, a fireworks show and more.
