SOLEDAD — Soledad Police detectives have arrested 24-year-old Giovanni Lopez Orozco, a Soledad resident, for sexual acts on a child.

With assistance from the King City Police Department, the suspect was located at work in King City and safely taken into custody by officers.

Orozco’s bail was set at $1 million after being requested and approved for a bail enhancement. He was booked into Monterey County Jail on numerous sexual criminal charges.

Soledad Police Department’s victim advocate assisted the victim and family by providing services and resources.

“This is an ongoing investigation, and the Soledad Police Department will release further information as the case progresses,” police said in a Nov. 6 news release. “The safety and well-being of our children are our top priority at the Soledad Police Department. If you or someone you know had inappropriate contact with Giovanni Lopez Orozco, contact Detective Lozano at 831-223-5164 or Officer Diaz at 831-223-5145.”
