KING CITY — King City Rotary Club will host its annual Crab Feed on Friday, Nov. 22, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City. The all-you-can-eat crab dinner also includes a DJ and line dancing. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at 1st Capital Bank, any local Rotarian or by calling 831-596-5328. All proceeds will support First Tee King City Golf Course Student Learning Center.

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Locals, a new organization made up of volunteers, will present A Day of Thanks Community Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 24, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 615 El Camino Real, in Greenfield. “We are organizing this event to celebrate gratitude, unity and community,” according to the A Day of Thanks team. “The event will bring together individuals from all walks of life to share stories of thankfulness, create lasting memories and build connections within our community. Our goal is not only to celebrate this season of giving, but also to make this event a memorable and meaningful tradition for years to come.” There are limited quantities available at the Thanksgiving meal. CLIMATE ACTION
MONTEREY COUNTY — Across the region, many communities are increasingly aware of or directly experiencing the impacts of climate change. The County of Monterey is developing the Community Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CCAAP) to provide a comprehensive framework for mitigating and adapting to these effects, and is looking for input. Those who live or work in Monterey County are invited to be part of this process, and can get involved at the virtual Climate Action Workshop on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. This workshop offers an opportunity to learn about the CCAAP and potential actions the County of Monterey can take. Open to all residents, the virtual session will help prioritize strategies for the county’s climate future through engaging presentations and collaborative discussions. MONTEREY COUNTY — Transportation Agency for Monterey County Board of Directors is looking for nominations for the Agency’s 23rd Annual Transportation Excellence Awards. The award honors individuals, businesses, groups or projects for their efforts to improve the transportation system in Monterey County. The nomination form is available on the Transportation Agency website. The deadline to submit a nomination is Dec. 6. The Transportation Agency Executive Committee will select the awards recipients at its Jan. 8, 2025, meeting, and the awards ceremony will take place during the regular Jan. 22, 2025, TAMC Board meeting.
