SALINAS — The Clem Albertoni Cowboy Gathering presented by Taylor Farms will take place Saturday, March 25, at the Fox Theater in Salinas.

The event, produced by the California Rodeo Association, is held in memory of long-time master of ceremonies and cowboy poet Clem Albertoni, who died in 2021. Albertoni, a local Monterey County legend, was involved in the event for years.

The traditional western event will feature cowboy music, poetry, dinner and more. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with dinner — provided by Pasta Mia Event Planners — served at 6 p.m. and the show beginning at 7 p.m.

Entertainers for the evening include Gary Allegretto, Mike Beck and Trinity Seely.

Allegretto is the 2019 International Western Music Association Male Performer of the Year. A talented harmonica player, he is also a remarkable singer, songwriter, guitarist and a masterful entertainer.

Beck is an engaging solo artist who regularly performs in the United States and Europe. He has several albums under his belt with original songs that have been recognized as some of the finest compositions on Western Americana out there.

Seely draws from her own cowgirl experiences growing up on her family’s guest ranch in British Columbia, living in Wyoming on a working cattle ranch and now running a horse program in Ojai, Calif. She writes and sings songs from a cowgirl point of view.

In addition to music and poetry, there will be live and silent auctions and a no-host bar.

A youth cowboy poetry contest also ran from Feb. 1 to March 13. The winners and their poems will be featured via video at the March 25 event.

Part of the event’s proceeds will benefit the California Rodeo Salinas’ Heritage Museum. For tickets or more information, visit carodeo.com.
