SALINAS — United Way Monterey County, the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce are having a ribbon-cutting ceremony for UWMC’s Community Impact Center in the Salinas City Center on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. Come and tour the new building, connect with community partners and friends and enjoy some refreshments at 232 Monterey St., Ste. 200, in Salinas.


VACCINE CLINIC

KING CITY — A Covid-19 vaccination clinic for ages 2 and up is planned for Friday, Oct. 14, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the King City Recreation Center, 401 Division St. The clinic is free, and no appointment is needed.


BLOOD SHORTAGE

SALINAS — Nonprofit blood services provider Vitalant has a blood emergency after its blood supply fell nearly 50% from the beginning of the summer and urges all eligible donors to make an appointment to donate and help replenish the blood supply. All blood types are needed. Upcoming blood donation opportunities include the following: Friday, Oct. 14, 12:30 to 5:30 p.m., Natividad Medical Center, 1441 Constitution Boulevard, Salinas; and Saturday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Star Market, 1275 S.
