MONTEREY COUNTY — For the second year, Monterey-Salinas Transit will offer free fares system-wide on all Sundays, beginning July 3 and running through Sept. 4. In addition, Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 5, will be free too. Funding of the free fares is made possible by the California Cap and Trade’s Low Carbon Transit Operations Program (LCTOP) program.
