KING CITY — A grand opening and ribbon cutting is planned for Bloom Coffee Shop on Saturday, July 2. The new business opens at 10 a.m., with the ribbon cutting set for 2 p.m. The coffee shop is located inside King Kora Restaurant, 611 Canal St., in King City.


SHOOTING RANGE

SOLEDAD — Astoria Shooting Range will have its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Saturday, July 2, from 12 to 5 p.m. The new facility, located at 31500 San Vicente Road in Soledad, boasts a long-range shooting area, shoot house maze, a 270-degree range, both pop-up and stationary targets, skeet field, trap shooting, a reserved area for the Soledad Police Department, a range area for those with disabilities meeting ADA requirements and a control tower. There is also a classroom building, which will host concealed and carry classes, safety training classes, basic firearm safety for adults and youth and more.


BLOOD DRIVE

SALINAS — American Red Cross is reminding the community that blood donors are needed around the Fourth of July holiday. The Red Cross sees about a 21% decline in blood donations during holiday weeks, including Independence Day.
