SOLEDAD — Soledad Police Department is investigating a shooting that killed two people and injured another person Friday night.

Officers responded to the report of a possible shooting at the 200 block of Eighth Street at about 9:24 p.m. on April 15. Police said multiple callers reported numerous gunshots in the area.

“Another caller stated he and his brother had been shot,” police said.

Once on scene, officers located three victims who had been shot. Two of the victims were found dead, and the third victim suffering from gunshot wounds was taken to Natividad Medical Center, where he is expected to survive.

“The names and identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin,” Soledad Police said in a news release Saturday. “This investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available.”

Officers from the Greenfield and King City police departments assisted local police with the investigation.
