To the Editor:

I would like to thank everyone who helped to make the fifth annual Coat Drive a huge success. More than 300 gently used and new coats were donated to help the homeless in Monterey County.

I want to thank the Greenfield Rotarians for helping to spread the word and a very big thank you to Karina Ramires and Rigo Avila, who took coats to the homeless in Salinas to China Town on Soledad Street and then in Seaside to the Casa de Noche Buena Shelter.

Every year Jose Sanchez from the Greenfield Community Science Workshop has been more than instrumental in helping the Coat Drive be successful for five years now.

Thank you to the Salinas Valley Tribune and KRKC for helping with the advertising.

Avelina Torres
Greenfield
