SUPERINTENDENT RESIGNS
SALINAS — Hartnell Community College District Governing Board has announced the resignation of Interim Superintendent/President Raúl Rodríguez, effective Jan. 14. Rodríguez, who joined Hartnell in July 2020, will become interim chancellor of the San Jose-Evergreen Community College District. The Board planned to consider appointing Steven Crow, Hartnell’s vice president for administrative services, as interim superintendent/president at its next regular meeting on Jan. 11. A nationwide search for a permanent new leader began in November, and the Board expects to complete an appointment later this spring.
STATE OF THE CITY — POSTPONED
KING CITY — King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will host the annual “State of the City” on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 12 p.m. inside the Orradre Building at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City. Speakers include King City Police Chief Keith Boyd, Mayor Mike LeBarre and City Manager Steve Adams, along with presentations by Col. Lisa Lamb, Fort Hunter Liggett commander, and Kendra Howell of the Blue Zones Project. Cost for lunch is $20 per person. Contact the Chamber at 831-385-3814 for more information.

TRANSPORTATION PLAN
MONTEREY COUNTY — Transportation Agency for Monterey County has released the draft 2022 Monterey County Regional Transportation Plan, which is available for public review and comment until Jan. 31. The draft plan serves as a 22-year road map for meeting the long-term transportation needs of Monterey County and can be downloaded from the Agency’s website tamcmonterey.org. In addition, a public hearing via Zoom will be held Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 9 a.m. as part of the TAMC Board meeting.
