SALINAS VALLEY — The second week of the football passing league (seven-on-seven) contests continues Wednesday, as the Greenfield High Bruins will host teams from Gonzales, Soledad and King City high schools.
The games will start at 5:30 p.m. in the Bruins stadium.
“The seven-on-seven is huge for our team because we only had one game this year and some of our players have not played football before, as we do not have a feeder program,” said Greenfield Head Coach Adam Barsenas. “Just to get the time on the playing field against other teams is valuable. I am very thankful to Gonzales coach Eddie Ramirez for inviting our frosh-soph boys to go over and have the seven on seven at Gonzales last week.”
King City High hosted the first seven-on-seven contests on June 30 with all four South Monterey County teams. After today’s games at Greenfield, the teams will continue play at Soledad on July 14 and at Gonzales on July 21.
