GONZALES — City of Gonzales employees, as well as members of the Gonzales Youth Council, worked together to distribute food to families in need on Monday.
Supplies were provided through a partnership between the USDA Farmers to Families Food Boxes program, the Grower-Shipper Association and Taylor Farms.
GYC member Sherlyn Flores said there continues to be a great need in the community due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, as many have lost their jobs and can’t afford food. She added that the distribution also reflects the city’s spirit of helping each other out in times of need.
