SOLEDAD — Five children and two adults were injured Monday morning after their SUV crashed into the center divide on Highway 101 near Soledad.

Soledad Fire Department and Cal Fire Gonzales Station responded to the vehicle accident at about 10:32 a.m. on March 25 just north of Camphora Gloria Road, with assistance provided by the Correctional Training Facility Fire Department. About 11 firefighters arrived on scene to help.

All seven patients were treated at the scene. Five air ambulance helicopters and two ground ambulances transported the patients to nearby hospitals and trauma centers. Their current conditions were not immediately known.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by California Highway Patrol.
